“Sunsets are proof that no matter what happens every day can end beautifully.”
– Kristen Butler
Before I start this post, let this song bring you back to your secondary school days (or even primary school days)… just let the song play while you read through and I think you may just start humming to the song 😀
Hope all of you have been doing well. Took a look at when I last posted and it was actually more than one and a half year ago! 😮
Things have been going pretty much the same way compared to back in May 2016. Maybe slightly busier because of projects that I am involved in compared to back then when I was still new to the company and in fact, less than half a year actually. As I am typing this post, I have actually just got past the 2-year mark at SIA. Yes, time flies. My last post was when I was barely 6 months into the company and now it is already two years. Most importantly, SIA has also received its new A380 with an all-new cabin products!!!
I joined the company as a Grade 5 employee, managed to get upgraded to Grade 6 late last year. To upgrade to Grade 7, I have known that most normally take 2 years before they can get upgraded but I am glad that I have managed to secure the upgrade which took effect on my anniversary date. Grades 5, 6 and 7 are effectively Associate 2, Senior 1 and Senior 2 respectively which are terms more commonly used in Big 4 firms.
Work is never easy because if they are easy, I will probably not be required there. Nonetheless, I think I have had some great colleagues so far and that we will all complain together at times and also help each other every time. My staff are also great people who knew their job very well and so I can no need to 操心 (aka worry) so much.
Work aside, I am just living the typical life that one can probably think of. Maybe over the past 18 months, I have managed to do some travelling. Since July last year, have travelled to 5 different countries, all except one I have not been to before. From UK (Scotland, London) to Thailand (Bangkok) to South Korea (Busan, Seoul) to Indonesia (Bali) and ending off 2017 with Taiwan. Perhaps some of you may ask why Taiwan again? It’s the 4th time but I feel that everytime I am there, there are always new things for me to experience. Apart from the UK trip last year which I went solo, my trips this year are all with different group of friends. Really thankful for them agreeing to let me join them ‘cos I know I am one very difficult person and will want to do things my own way whenever I travel. Sorry friends if I have been difficult some times.
2017 is coming to an end soon and before which, Christmas! Have been hearing the rendition of “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Mediacorp on TV over the past few weeks. Thought it was quite a good idea to have all employees, whether it’s the artistes, radio DJs, news anchors, or those supporting the corporate functions, to be part of the video. Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and hope 2018 will be a wonderful year for all of you! 🙂
And of course, not forgetting what I have done for all posts, here’s some songs to end off this post. Presenting songs from JJ Lin 林俊杰, Stephanie Sun’s (孙燕姿) 13th album A Dancing Van Gogh (跳舞的梵谷) and Mayday 五月天.
